A highlight of five fabulous things that happened at HBS this week.

1. Mr. Wright was inducted into the teaching profession.

2. Five Mile Community Agricultural Society was the first sponsor for our new playground. If you can contribute time, money or in kind support for our playground plan, please contact the school.

3. 2H had a visit from Ms. Frizzle (aka Mrs. Buck) today!

4. The junior girls A team wrapped up their season.

5. Calming room building time. Sometimes you just need to build it up and knock it down before being ready to learn.

Educational Assistants worked with learning coach Victoria Baker on Parabytes. K-3 teachers worked on their new science curriculum with an Alberta curriculum specialist. 4-6 teachers worked on assessment with a specialist from the Alberta Assessment Consortium and the junior high teachers had a field trip down the street to PWA to plan alongside their high school counterparts.

Creating with Natural Materials in Science/Art. The students were so engaged and made some amazing creations out of natural materials they collected.

Hockey Hooky Highlights! Thanks GP Storm & Control Tech for sponsoring a fun Friday for HBS!

A highlight of 5 fabulous things that happened at HBS this week!

2. JK instructor Mrs. Lavallee presents to other JK and kinder education assistants on "Rough & Tumble Play".

3. Sensory room fun & regulation. Inside the body bags are two little people pushing, moving & getting their bodies ready to learn.

4. Lots of volleyball this week made possible by amazing volunteer coaches.

5. Grade 5-8 played hookey for hockey on Friday.

HBS is emphasizing wellness, assessment, and intervention for school improvement this year. In each newsletter, we'll showcase our initiatives.

This year's art contest is open to PWPSD students in Grades 4-6.

HBS students have voted and the playground committee has started working on plans for our new playground. Fundraising this upcoming year is going to be important, if you are interested in donating or helping please contact the school.
