For precise student reading assessments, teachers will hold one-on-one conferences with students. In these conferences, students will read aloud to the teacher and respond to questions. The teacher will evaluate:
- Reading fluency: This measures how quickly, accurately, and expressively a student can read.
- Reading comprehension: This assesses their ability to understand and interpret the text.
In the accompanying image, the rest of the class is engaged in listening to reading at their assessed reading levels, followed by answering comprehension questions.
