Junior Kindergarten returned to school after the long holiday without a hiccup! We jumped right into the New Year with joy, curiosity, and the JK Obstacle Course! Kids have been showing off and strengthening their Physical Literary. Let's celebrate those beautiful gross motor skills! JK will continue to enjoy this active fun until Spring, the course ever changing by the day.
And what else? Experimenting and playing with ice! Who said the cold can't be fun? Not the Junior Kindergarten class! This week we painted with ice and we played with many different ice shapes (in a variety of colors) in our water table. Tomorrow we will investigate frozen fruit, and next week kids will explore ways to remove toys from ice cubes.
To ring in the New Year, JK played a few fun games including Cold Ice Cube (as apposed to Hot Potato). For this game, kids passed around a giant paper ball that had layers of hidden surprises. Such a festive way to strengthen self-regulation!
We are ready for 2023, and from our classroom to the comfort of your home, we wish you a Very Happy New Year!
